String figures are like cats cradle, but for one person. You bring your fingers and String Girl and Mij will bring the string! FiddleMan Bruce, Bear and Mij will jam up some tunes for some big dances. We meet in the Gladys Wernette Building at Wheatlands.

The Blue Water Ramblers invite you to join us in supporting our favorite folk music organization. For thirty years the Grand River Folk Arts Society has brought the finest folk musicians to West Michigan. Now the Ramblers are going to return the complement with the third annual spring benefit concert. Bear and Banjo-Jim will be joined by the Raisin Pickers for a evening of great music and rollicking fun.

The concert begins at 8 PM in the Baker Chapel at Grace Bible College, 1011 Aldon SW, two blocks west of Clyde Park between Burton and 28th streets. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for seniors & students, $7 for members, $3 for children 2-12 yrs. Doors open at 7:30 PM. For more information and directions, see GRFAS on the web.

Dance, sing, pick, try some traditional arts and crafts and even take a few music lessons at Traditional Arts Weekend at Wheatland Music Organization. We're kicking off the weekend with a Sixty Songs of the Sixties Hootenanny at 8:30 Friday evening. Saturday at one we'll back up Sheila Graziano as she teaches you Marley Buck and Wing dances. Then on Sunday at 9 AM we join Celia Farran for some story telling. Banjo-Jim calls a family dance - squares, lines, rounds and reels - at 11:30 AM. We'll share our best jokes and funny songs at a humor workshop at 2:15 and back up caller Carole Howard at an 8:30 PM square dance on the main stage.

Jackpine Jamboree at Wellington Farm Park near Grayling. The Ramblers will perform at noon, 3 and 6 PM. Wellington Farm Park is a re-creation of a 1932 Depression era, Northern Michigan farm with working machinery, grist and lumber mills and working kitchens turning out mouth-watering vittles. The Ramblers are proud to share our authentic period pieces from that exciting era.

Join in the fun as the National Timberjack Series Lumberjack show gets those logs rolling. Take a look at some classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles as the show begins on Friday evening with a cruise through the town, and a great show on Saturday.
